Martin with Bill Wyman backstage at Glastonbury

Martin Stephenson & The Daintees made their long awaited return to the greatest festival on earth today when they played a storming set to a packed Acoustic Tent at Glastonbury.

An early start after last night’s Liverpool gig meant breakfast on the tour bus with Martin providing the maltesers! En Route To Glastonbury - Maltesers all round! There was a huge buzz on Twitter and Facebook with countless messages wishing Martin and the band good luck for their first Glastonbury appearance since they played The Pyramid Stage in 1989! Rolling Stones! Glastonbury 1989

Helen McCookerybook managed to get some great pictures for us from backstage including the great shot of Martin and Rolling Stones legend Bill Wyman which has already been tagged “The Way-aye man and The Wyman”

Here they are playing Crocodile Cryer where they were joined by Martin’s talented daughter Phoebe on guitar.     The Daintees and Phoebe Stephenson at Glastonbury 2013 - Crocodile Cryer

Later in the set Helen joined Martin on-stage for a beautiful version of Airship

Drummer Kate Stephenson summed up the day beautifully for us … “A sea of smiling faces as Martin rocked the house. Wonderful vibe and amazing experience, leaving the festival now. Had the best time. Glasto la vista baby”
